Beira passport trip nightmare

Well see it all. In Beira now after leaving Ihassora at 2.30. 20km back to EN1 then hit east coast but with potholes on steroids. Potholes wider than the truck and deep for over 100km. Trucks serving all over the place to dodge them. Then on to Inchope. no diesel. Turn down towards Beira. Trucks everywhere. Main road from harbour to Zimbabwe & Malawi. Then road turns ugly. Potholes everywhere and trucks and motorized weaving left and right. Nightmare. Still low on diesel. Then official road tax road block. Now it seems you need road tax for Goba to Maputu @ $100, then Maputu to Beira @ $125, then Beira to Maputu @ $125. Let alone Pemba and back, etc. All at R8 to the dollar. What a con. Guys pulling dollars out their pockets. Giving receipts from a plastic bag on floor. Guns outside so you pay. Argue and they keep you waiting until you pay. Over an hour in my case. Will never come back to Beira.
Waiting for guy from immigration to meet us.

140km from Inchope to Beira took 4 hours
