After the Hell of yesterday we got our TIP stamps by 5.30 pm. Went to Biques for supper and slept in parking lot for a few hours. On the road by 11 and headed for Zimbabwe border near Mutare. Arrived at 4am. Road better at night when you can use whole road to dodge potholes. Still some you have to drive down into like driving off a pavement. Did a business transaction at border at 6am and left at 6.30. Pockets lighter but stamped out moz, in & out Zimbabwe and in moz.
In Chimoio waiting for Shoprite to open. Tank full. Once shopping done we are heading to Gorongosa National Park at Chitengo camp. Thanks to travel agent Botch for contact number again

Check out Gorongosa National Park http://www.gorongosa.net/ Really stunning!!!
ReplyDeleteIt was said to be "the place where Noah left his Ark." Lush floodplains in central Mozambique packed with wild animals and more than 500 species of birds.
The legendary Gorongosa National Park was filmed by Bob Poole of National Geographic. The amazing documentary produced by James Byrne "Africa's Lost Eden" tells the story of the extraordinary efforts of conservationists fighting to restore the park and replenish the animal populations.
After years of civil war and neglect the Gorongosa Restoration Project was formulated to restore the park to its former glory. National Geographic's film on Gorongosa Park, called "Africa's Lost Eden," was considered one the best films of the year as voted by the International Committee of Tourism Film Festivals.
